Where can I pitch a tent?

Whether you’re staying for one night or planning a week-long camping trip, it doesn’t matter. Even a night in the wrong place could mean something wet or a broken pole and the end of the journey. Please pay attention to the weather forecast before you leave. If strong winds are expected, watch downwind. If it is going to rain, keep a higher position. Each place has its own characteristics, so don’t rush to choose the right patch.

Check the place carefully and pass. Find some shade. If the sun leans on your tent all day, it can be unbearable to be inside. Watch the running water. Even a small stream can overflow after a night of rain. If you know a rainstorm is coming, it is best to dig a drainage channel around your tent.

Find out which way the wind is blowing. Position the narrowest part of the tent in the direction of the wind. The smaller the area in the path of the wind, the better. Set the entrance on the lee side so that it is not blown by gusts when entering or leaving.
